The final webinar in our After Lunch Course Series for 2022, coordinated by the 7 Regional Library Systems and the State Library of Kansas, is open for registration. In this 60-minute webinar, we’re focusing on leadership skills that apply to everyone. Leadership is a necessary skill in all types of work in today’s libraries. Yet, many people think that they aren’t leaders for a variety of reasons. You may be surprised to learn that leadership is something that ALL of us can learn and in which ALL of us can become skilled. You may be doing things now that others associate with leadership. In this interactive session, you will learn about the research on behaviors of effective leaders and identify your leadership strengths. Walk away with strategies and a plan to grow yourself and others in leadership behaviors.
Our Presenter:
Sharon Morris earned a doctorate in Managerial Leadership in Libraries from Simmons College, has an MLIS from Emporia State, and has worked at the state library for over 19 years. She previously worked at the Denver Public Library, in MLIS education, and other library related work. She provides workshops nationally on library leadership and development topics and has co-created several leadership institutes. In addition, shared facilitates, public library strategic planning, focus groups, usability testing, and needs assessment.
