Group Purchasing

NEKLS helps member libraries stretch their budgets by purchasing some common library supplies in bulk. Substantial savings from quantity discounts and reduced shipping are passed on when NEKLS provides these items at cost. All libraries in Kansas are now members of LYRASIS, through a membership purchased by the State Library of Kansas. This membership entitles NEKLS libraries to discounts with the companies listed below. NEKLS has negotiated member discounts from several additional vendors. Baker & Taylor offers discounts on library materials and processing fees according to the price list below. Barnes and Noble
Barnes and Noble Bookstores in Northeast Kansas offer a 20% discount off list price to libraries. Orders over $5,000 receive a 25% discount. They also offer a paid membership plan that gives members 10% off the store price on any item, including those on sale. Pre-K to grade 12 Educators can sign up for an Educator Discount Card and receive 20% off all purchases for classroom use and 25% off on Educator Appreciation Days.

Half Price Books – Librarian/Educator Discount
Show proof of employment at a library or school and receive a 10% discount card that can be used on all purchases at any Half Price Books. Both personal and library purchases are eligible for the discount. It cannot be combined with discount coupons. Card must be renewed annually.
