Bonnie is a former public library director and is currently the Northwest District Consultant with the State Library of Iowa. She will demonstrate to us The Board’s Role in Storytelling. On Thursday, June 9, 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm, Martin Garnar will present Intellectual Freedom: Fighting the Good Fight, Martin has served as chair of the ALA’s Intellectual Freedom Committee and the Committee on Professional Ethics and as president of the Freedom to Read Foundation. Register on Zoom. This is the second installment of the Kansas library learning series called After-lunch course, sponsored by the Regional Library Systems and The State Library of Kansas.
The workshop on June 4 is for trustees and directors of Northeast Kansas public libraries. The workshop on June 9 is fittingly open to all. Both will be recorded and archived on NEKLS Online Learning.
*If a quorum of your public library board participates live or watches the recorded 2022 Trustee Training, with a follow up reflection and group discussion, then the library will meet the accreditation requirement for Trustee CE. It is recommended that trustees, along with the director, participate in the same training opportunity.
