Wednesday, November 7, 2018 Baker Wetlands Discovery Center, Lawrence Sensory storytime techniques make programs more beneficial for all participants, regardless of ability and skill levels. Participants can expect to learn tips on storytime, sensory storytime and inclusion. Our speaker, Sherry Norfolk, will present an interactive workshop, Sensory Storytime for All. If you attended any of the seven Kansas Summer Library Program Workshops in 2017, you may remember Sherry as a dynamic and knowledgeable presenter from St. Louis. Participants will experience a wide variety of sensory storytime strategies, learn ways to make all library programs more inclusive and leave with at least one storytime ready to go, including props! 9:30-10am – registration and refreshments 10am-noon – Sensory Storytimes, Part 1 noon-1pm – lunch buffet 1-3pm – Sensory Storytimes, Part 2 3-4pm – optional work session (practice new techniques, swap ideas, network) For full information on our topic and presenter, see this flyer.
