Kiersten Allen, Miami County Representative

Kiersten Allen has been a journalist, an educator and a writer. In the library world she was the youth services coordinator before she became the director at Louisburg Library where she is currently in her 21st year. She got her SLIM education from Emporia State and a BA and MA in English from K-State (not quite a house divided). She has been through leadership programs at the local, state and national level. As a motivational speaker, Kiersten has encouraged youth and adults across the nation and in the military not to drink and drive—she started as a teen and is still active. She is married with three children and a grandson who keep her busy when she’s not advocating for libraries, sober driving and, of course, world peace. We’ve gotta start somewhere – why not here?
