Virginia Schirmer, Jackson County Representative
Virginia (Ginnie) Schirmer recently retired from state service after 33 amazing years, finalizing that venture with Kansas Department of Administration as the Senior State Auditor in Accounts and Reports. During her tenure with State, Ginnie’s volunteer work included streamlining accounting books into a logical form for her local EUM church; facilitating through twists and bends a free weekly yoga class where all were welcome; brought enthusiasm and smiles to CCD classes at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church for 9 years; helped to establish the Jackson County Arts Council, which hosted musicians and poets, art walks, and art events for children to kick start their imaginations.
